American Squatter
by Barry Smith
Critic’s Choice - Vancouver Fringe ’07.
Barry Smith (JESUS IN MONTANA) recounts his journey from American suburbanite to filthy squatter in late-1980s London, with stop offs at punk, a clean-freak father and a community college ceramics course. “What sets this production apart is not only Smith’s sharp wit, but his ability to channel laughter’s deeper cathartic powers.” - Montreal Hour
PLEASE NOTE: The Sunday June 22nd 11:00pm performance has been cancelled due to travel conflicts.

What a talent it is to be able to take your own life and make it funny and
relevant to an audience, complete with historic slides and video clips.
I wondered if Barry might have stood closer to his video screen to make
it easier for us to switch between his face and his slides, since often
both had interesting things going on at the same time.
