Best in Fest Winners

The Ottawa Fringe is pleased to announce the winners of Best in Fest. All of the winners will have an additional performance on Sunday evening at their venue. There are no advance tickets for these performances.
Venue 1Alumni Auditorium- Sunday June 29, 10:00pm
Venue 2 Academic Hall- Sunday June 29, 9:30pm
Venue 3-Studio Leonard Beaulne- Sunday June 29, 10:00pm
Venue 4- Arts Court Library- Sunday June 29, 9:30pm
Venue 5- Arts Court Theatre- Sunday June 29, 9:30pm
There are no Best in Venue shows for Mercury Lounge or SAW Gallery.

IMO the best show of the whole fest was at the Saw.
And they don’t even get an opportunity to represent at the Fest.
This is BS. And I swear a certain ‘controversial’ troupe was stuffing the ballot.

June 30th, 2008In response to Jas, the reason there was no Best in Venue for Mercury and Saw is that both were Bring Your Own Venue locations. Independent producers rented the spaces and filled them with the shows you saw, then registered with Fringe. The five Best in Venue shows that won were in the venues that the festival was running. The people responsible for the BYOV venues chose not to have one extra show.
I hope this clears it up. I agree with you that the shows in Club Saw were all fantastic.
