Blogging About Fringe: June 26, 2009
It’s the final weekend of the Fringe. Before you head out for one last binge of theatre going, here’s a sample of what’s being said about us on local blogs.
Apt. 613 has Five Picks for First-Time Fringers.
The Ottawa Arts Newsletter (aka Jessica Ruano) has her Fringe Recommendations, as well as a look at We Never Clothed a year from now.
Jo at Also a Talker went to see Jesus Rant.
Nancy Kenny slows from her usual output of one-blog-post-per-minute to go to an audition (with Fringe on her mind), and has a guide for all the Marathon Fringing you’ll be up to this weekend.
Sterling Lynch, meanwhile, clearly has too much time on his hands, with posts on the opening night of Satanic Panic, a review of This is a Recording (spoiler alert: he liked it), a recap of his seventh day of Fringing, and why he loves a good coincidence.
More reviews from TheatreGirl: Daniel MacIvor’s Wild Abandon & House, and The Girl Who Was Eaten by the Dark.
(Cult)ure Magazine is also getting in on the review game, with write-ups on No Exit Upstage, Oreo and The Beer Tent, and Satanic Panic.
Fringe writer/actor Nadine Thornhill (of Oreo) has a new blog, where she writes about why she doesn’t suck, and what, exactly, a dramaurg does (spoiler alert: sometimes it involves dancing), among other things. Check her out.
Post Industrial Brambles has seen a couple more shows.
Jamine has two new posts for us: she writes about some shows (and her height), and then she writes about some more shows.
And the Wellington Oracle has once again updated their 40 Seconds to Fringe You post. Hear even more pitches from artists!
