The 2011 Ottawa Fringe Festival is over.
Thank you to all the artists, volunteers, and audiences who came out to make the 2011 Ottawa Fringe the most successful Fringe ever. We had record attendance in 2011 with over 12,600 tickets sold, and returned over $84,000 to participating artists – also an Ottawa Fringe record. And all of this increase came with 7 fewer performing companies – and 43 fewer individual performances – than 2010, which was also a record year for Fringe.
We closed the festival out in style last night, and from all accounts the party went on well after I left the Courtyard (which was late). Fringe photographer Andrew Alexander has put together a photo album of the party for anyone who couldn’t make it.
The end of Fringe also means the handing out of the annual Closing Night Awards. Congratulations to all our award recipients:

See you next year!
The 2011 Ottawa Fringe Festival is over!
But before we closed the Fringe for another year, Executive Producer Natalie Joy Quensel announced the winners of the 2011 Closing Night Awards. A committee of accomplished professionals and dedicated Fringe patrons from Ottawa’s arts community saw every show in the festival and chose the winners in the following categories.

This is it, everyone. This is your absolute last chance to Fringe for another 354 days (I did the math for you. You’re welcome). Take advantage and go see as many shows as you can. Remember, our BEST IN FEST shows are all on at 9:30 pm in the five regular venues.
Today is also your last chance to vote in the Fringe’s Green Screen contest. Polls close at 6:00 – and great prizes are at stake! Vote!
Finally (I don’t want to take up too much time – you all have shows to see), join us in the Courtyard at 11:00 pm this evening for the festival’s closing ceremonies. We’ll be announcing the winners of the Peer Awards, and will be partying until they kick us out of the Courtyard.
It’s the last day of Fringe! What are you seeing today?
So you may have seen me walking through the Fringe with my camera, and I may have seen you through my lens. It’s been a great Fringe this year for pictures, and as we near the finish line, I thought it would be nice to show off some.
If you want to be part of this treasure trove of memories, don’t hesitate to track me down to get your picture taken!
