June 23rd, 2008What a great, fun show! I had heard great things about them from people who were able to catch them in other places last year, but I wasn’t prepared for how much fun it would be! The songs are hilarious, as are the bits in between. Their interaction with the audience and with each other is priceless.
Be warned though, if you have sensitive ears, or can’t take any loud music, this is probably not the show for you. My ears are still ringing over an hour after leaving the theatre! Otherwise go and enjoy yourselves!

June 24th, 2008This show totally blew my mind. It’s hands down the best show I’ve seen in about 5 years! I was there for the opening night and they rocked the Alumni Auditorium. Go see ‘em! Rock Bang!

June 24th, 2008I had a rollickin’ good time at this show, the audience was in stitches and I can see why the show won best of the Montreal fringe. The musical bits were awesome and funny, by the way props to Jay for the best comeback line by an audience member at this year’s fringe, and to Kate: let’s get together for coffee if things don’t work out with Otto!

June 24th, 2008A beautiful colorful caricature of the real punk era…not the punk punks think what punk is today. Both Astrid and Otta was just perfect, the Abbott to her Costello, the ying to her yang, the in to her cest. :-)
And the stare down that Otta gave Jay (audience member) was just price less. Only to be upped by Jay’s comment regarding Astrid’s song dedication to him. Way to go Jay! (That’s why Fringe Festivals RULE!)
A well crafted piece of work. And when you think the show is over, as you leave the venue you walk by one of the band members selling Tshirts and buttons…just like in my younger days. Too bad they didn’t have any CDs as I would have snapped one up.

June 25th, 2008This show is simply priceless! I got the chance to see the show at the montreal fringe and fell in love with it. Every song is so catchy you simply can’t help but sing along. Everyone looking to see an amazing show this fringe needs to hit this up, I plan on seeing it again and I expect many others to feel that same need. You just can’t get enough! Everyone leaves wanting to be a super musician who pushes there rock in others… ROCK BANG!!

June 28th, 2008I cannot begin to say how much I loved this show. They are brilliant clowns, brilliant performers, brilliant comedians. I loved every moment and can’t wait to have another chance to see them before the Fringe is over. In place of your morning coffee or booster juice, go see this show for one hell of an energy boost. You won’t regret it. DON’T MISS IT!

June 28th, 2008Brad says he tends to mistrust shows that have only positive reviews
( http://www.ottawafringe.com/its-your-last-chance-355/ ). Okay, I’ve been
quiet about the shows that didn’t move me. Everything has some little
gem of goodness in it, even if I didn’t find it. I’ll see which shows
have only positive reviews and maybe …
I wasn’t “blown away” by die Roten Punkte. The music was well-played,
loud punk/rock music; the lyrics were amusing lyrics. The stage patter
was selectively amusing. (I found the “Speak with ‘I’ messages!” material
quite well done.) The musicians were energetic. I didn’t see anything
unusual or extraordinary for a punk/rock band here.
There wasn’t enough Theatre in it for me. It was a blend of high-energy
punk/rock and manic clown, and I’ve been known not to warm up to
manic clown performances. “Furious activity is no substitute for
accomplishment.”

June 29th, 2008I was not prepared for a show this overwhelmingly hilarious. Every parody was bang-on. Every bit of dialogue was explosively funny. Every song was uniquely amusing (and sometimes quite catchy). I only with they would have had CDs to sell as well.

June 30th, 2008I LOVED this show. So funny, fantastic energy, original. The music was cool, and I was disappointed that their t-shirts ran out (but I got a PIN). I’ll be telling my theatre friends in T.O. and Vancouver that this show is a MUST SEE. I just adored it.
