Nothing Personal

Nothing Personal

by Hugh Leonard

Phil went out late to buy some drink. And now he finds himself at a party! What a party! Will he ever come home again?

Brian Stewart is Phil at the party. His strange hosts are Annette Huton and Ray Besharah.

JP Kelly really knows how to get the best out of a space and lets the actors shine. He has an eye for a good script and all those elements come together for this. Three really strong actors make this slightly twisted story come alive. Ray Besharah has a mischeivous quality that turns mean in a delicious hop. Brian Stewart has a nervous puppy air, both in this and in ” Melody” which brings out both characters so well. Annette Hutton adds a bitterness that’s not overplayed and an underlying sexual tension. All of it kept my interest piqued until the final very strange but beleivable plot twist.
Absolutely worth it. This company will be on bigger stages with bigger shows and it will be well deserved.

It is a fine performance and a tight script. There is an oppressive darkness that never goes away even when you laugh.
