On the Sly

by Jan Zimmerman, trans. Abby Lynch

When Christopher Sly mistakes a country manor for the local pub, he stumbles into a fantastical world he never could have imagined. He just wants a beer, but the lady of the house and a visiting all-female troupe of actors twist his reality and ours into this farcical take on Taming of the Shrew.

I laughted - a lot. Even if you are not a fan of Shakespeare’s version, you will enjoy this one. Chris Sly was hilarious (”You couldn’t have helped me out?!”) This was an awesome surprise. Well done all!

A good bit of fun, well-performed. I do have a soft spot for the words
of Shakespeare, and the play did not abuse them.
