When the Big Eagle Sh*ts
Tuesday, May 15th, 2007
by Sheila Forsyth
Screech at the surreal (or is it all too real) world of office politics, putting in time around the water -cooler, waiting for the big eagle’s biweekly dumps (AKA a pay cheque). A merry-go-round of memos and Catch-22s, where the only refuge is the lavatory … and empowerment is a dirty word. A tribute to Ottawa’s hard-working civil servants.

by John Lazuras and The Company
The Pre-Professional Company of OSSD is producing “Spider Juice”, a new collage/creation based upon the plays of internationally produced Canadian playwright John Lazarus. The piece explores the dynamic marriage of text and movement, spinning stories of conflict, communication and cooperation. Layers of meaning are juxtaposed, sampled and reinvented as characters twine and intertwine. The piece is directed by Bruce Bissonnette, with choreography by Peter Ryan.
If Not for the Sea
Tuesday, May 15th, 2007

A seaside village is shaken at the roots when a strange and mysterious man arrives unexpectedly. An exploration of the darker side of the human experience, woven through a physical score of sound and rhythm, If Not for the Sea traces the tragic tale of the union between Mae and the unwelcome maverick, a union undisputedly condemned by the villagers.

Flamenco con Fusion
Tuesday, May 15th, 2007
by Ricardo Garcia and Julie Gunn
Flamenco as you’ve never seen before! High energy, contemporary: flamenco meets the 21st century with the battle between traditional Flamenco dance and Hip Hop. Combining authentic flamenco music and dance from Spain with an unprecedented modern twist, Ricardo Garcia demonstrates an astounding melange of the developments of the genre in this 5 star production. “Mesmerizing… masterful…. a Fringe treasure.” (Sunday Herald, Edinburgh)
THE GODDESS, or True as an Arrow
Tuesday, May 15th, 2007
by Alan Dean McDowell & Andrea Cochrane
When Bacchus, the Roman god of partying, wreaks havoc on the 1950s by creating rock n’ roll, the rest of the Pantheon go to extremes to stop the mayhem. Hilarity and true love ensue. A rollicking musical featuring 9 original songs.
