Sit close for this one. Randy plays finger-style acoustic guitar. Don’t miss a note.

Randy has asked the volunteers to sit people in the first three rows.

We saw this show last year at the Winnipeg Fringe, and again Friday night. My wife cried at the end both times.

Randy performed to an appreciative audience on Friday. They laughed in the right places. They listened intently in quiet appreciation through the rest. (Just as well, as Randy needs a quiet space so he can hear himself perform.)

I heard comments of “I really liked that show” on the way out. Friends who came on our recommendation told us they were so glad they came.

I’ve seen most of Randy’s five shows. This is my favourite. It inspires me. What a great start to the Fringe!

Oops! I should have written “Thursday” night, not “Friday”. Only four shows so fart and I’m already having trouble keeping track of the day of the week.

Loved this show - almost cried at the end. His timing was superb, the audience laughed and “almost cried” in al the right spots.

The show was decent, but I wouldn’t say great. He had moments where he was excellent, but overall the play needed something to bring it together better, to have more of a throughline. As a performer he’s great, but he needs a director to bring the show up a few notches.

I liked the show. His timing is excellent and the material is real. A good storyteller.

This was an excellent show to start my fringe attendance this year.
Thanks for the walk through your life…and your bravery.
I didn’t expect to walk out with tears in my eyes.
    Bravo.

[...] Singing at the Edge of the World, is an autobiographical solo performance by San Francisco based Randy Rutherford. There are still a few of his shows to go, and this is definitely worth seeing if you like to leave the theatre feeling good but with a little something to think about for the road.  [...]

What a wonderful show! Randy is an accomplished storyteller and singer, and this autobiographical account of his years as an Alaskan folksinger (and subsequent struggle with hearing problems) is both touching and fun at the same time. Don’t miss it!
