Adam M puts on a great performance, offering his answer to all your questions about love, sex and dating. Deeply personal, smart, hilarious, occasionally cringe-inducing, and with a smattering of WTF?, The State of the Union is definitely a must-see of the festival. But if you bring a date, make sure you actually like them, or it could make for the awkward moments on the drive home!

Awesome, awesome, awesome. There’s something about Adam’s stories that makes you feel like he Knows Something. He’s not just disclosing his own experiences, he’s making you see all of your own neuroses and figure out every problem you’ve ever had in your relationships. My friend and I exchanged many a knowing glance throughout the show, because Adam’s insights are just so spot on. If the phrase “too much information” escapes your lips on a regular basis, then this is probably not the show for you… but if you can see the humour in life’s more serious and sordid side, then go. Just go.

This show is smart, gutsy, honest, hilarious, and full of insight. You’ll appreciate it all the more if you’ve ever felt like a social-leper for choosing to be single. Adam’s insights into society and relationships are brilliant and he’s a gifted storyteller. Go see the show!

Adam consistently delivers funny, insightful commentary, not only about himself, but also about you, your date, and that guy sitting behind you. A consistent festival best.
