Water
Water is inspired by the contaminated water tragedy that plagued the community of Walkerton, Ontario. The play examines the direct impact on the community, the response, and the healing process in the aftermath. Playwright Brad Curtin is a resident of the Walkerton area and his firsthand knowledge of the tragedy informs the historical reality of the play and adds to its emotional authenticity. In lieu of performance rights, the playwright has asked that a donation be made to a water charity such as Ryan’s Well Foundation.

Ian!
June 24th, 2008I liked it. Important subject; local script; local performers. Nice
combination; well done. I don’t like being reminded of the futility
and frustrations of being caught up in a bureaucratic and political
nightmare, where there are too many lawyers and not enough justice.
It’s important that I don’t forget.

June 25th, 2008I was very impressed with this show! It was well written, amazingly well performed, well staged, lighted - even the ’soundtrack’ was awesome.
I wasn’t sure what to expect when I sat down. Then the show began and people wearing masks and scarves started flitting about, and I thought (quietly to myself), oh no, what have I got myself into now. But then they took off the masks and turned off the funky lighting, and started to deliver meaningful dialogue in a compelling way. I laughed, I cried, I learned something, and I left thinking ‘That’s the way to put on a play’. Thank you for a wonderful show!
GO SEE THIS! RGHT NOW!

June 25th, 2008Really good show. I especially liked the way the 5 young talented actors authentically portrayed Walkerton residents of all ages and kinds. I also liked the fact that the writing delved into issues that are not ‘headline grabbers’ (eg. having chronic illness and how the health system can fail you; monetary compensation and how it is a hollow, substitute for loss of health). Go see this show!
(PS. just in case anybody besides me cares abou this stuff, It doesn’t have swearing/risque scenes, so is good pick for all!)

June 26th, 2008This is such an amazing show, with a cast of talented actors. It has something for everyone, short movement pieces, comedy, drama, tragedy. I laughed, I cried and I enjoyed it immensely. Though the actors portray many different parts they are able to pull it off almost seamlessly, they can deliver a heart-breaking monologue and come back a few minutes later to have you grinning ear-to-ear without a blink of an eye. I would highly recommend it to anyone able to come!

June 28th, 2008A superb and meaningful play full of energy with some great acting by wonderful young, talented local actors who can have you crying and then laughing within moments of the scenes. All of the actors play more than one character, and they pull it off extremely well. The music for the performance fit perfectly; great song choices. This is an hour worth your time, and it is a highly recommendable show.
There is only one performance left! Please go see this production, go see a great show! You will leave feeling immensely satisfied for seeing this brilliant Canadian play. (You might even learn something about the Walkerton situation.)
